Becoming Certified

At Wolman, we believe it is crucial to a wood care service business' success to properly train owners and personnel on topics other than just the proper selection and application of our products. These topics include the nature and characteristics of wood, the how-to's of initial care and maintenance, and proven methods of winning bids and growing a client base, just to name a few. To that end, we developed the Wolman Certified Contractor Program to provide basic and continuing education, and to recognize those contractors who have proven their understanding of this critical knowledge. We offer training materials and follow-up technical support FREE OF CHARGE to ensure our contractor customers satisfy their clients and hold the competitive edge when selling their service in their local markets.

The certification process begins with studying the Wolman Certified Contractor Training Manual. You will learn about specific exterior wood species, the damaging effects of weather exposure,
the basic steps and WOLMAN products required to restore and protect exterior wood surfaces, as well as recommended marketing and pricing methods to use in order to successfully develop your own exterior wood care business.

Once you've completely reviewed the training manual, you should complete the Wolman Certification Test. The test follows the manual in chapter order, and is designed to examine your knowledge of the information covered in the manual. The test is multiple-choice; it is not designed to be difficult, or to trick you. In fact, you can go back to correct answers on questions you miss, in order to increase your score!

Once you pass, you will receive an informational packet and diploma that officially designates you as a Wolman Certified Contractor.
