Wolman Wood Preservatives

Wood preservatives are coatings designed to sustain the structural and surface integrity of wood, and can increase the life of wood by five to ten times its normal life expectancy. Preservatives should be used to protect any outdoor wood that is not pressure-treated, though they protect both untreated and pressure-treated wood from rot, decay and water damage.
Wood Preservatives prevent the growth of fungi, including mold, mildew, rot and decay organisms. If left untreated, such fungi will adversely affect both the appearance and performance of wood. Thus preservatives not only protect wood against the unsightly discolorations caused by mildew, mold, and other fungi, but also rotting and decay.
Some also contain an insecticide to protect wood in ground or water contact from attack by termites and wood boring insects. All wood boring insects, such as termites, use wood as a food source, causing ultimate wood rot and decay.
Depending on their active ingredients, preservatives may come with or without color, thereby offering varying degrees of limited UV protection. However, non-pigmented types can be painted or stained to protect wood from UV exposure.

WOODLIFE wood preservatives are specifically formulated for particular types of ground installation conditions, including above-ground, ground contact, and ground and water contact. In addition, all are EPA-registered.
